Abstract
In recent years climate change is fast becoming a robust environmental threat facing the Earth. The Indian sub-continent has been predicted to experience a warming of 3-5°C in the coming decades. The climatic variables like precipitation and temperature data for modelling purpose are to be accurate, representative and of high resolution to address the current and future trends of the impact. This issue discusses those aspects in general and particularly the Sikkim and North East regions which are believed to be adversely impacted by climate change in recent times. Some of the other papers deal with the warming process and impact of long-term change in precipitation patterns. Lastly, how the climate change affects the most vulnerable section of our society i.e. women has been thoroughly analysed.
