Abstract

This issue covers papers that are articulated on topics of contemporary global relevance. One of the paper covers the Paris Agreement of 2015 where each country’s potential to respond to the challenges envisaged in the near future on global climate change have been addressed. Heat index impact and their temporal and spatial variability’s role on human bio-meteorological conditions along with the impact of drought and flood due to EL Nino/La Nina in Indian subcontinent are highlighted. The Himalayan glaciers volume change and BC role and its response to climate change are analysed with specific examples. In another paper, the ground water memories in the geological times in India and Nordic countries show their behavioural pattern during past climate change scenarios along with recent ground waters status linked to climate change on their freshwater resource management in SLR (sea level rise) prone Bangladesh region. The energy and food security are analysed in terms of variation in nitrogen cycle and aerosols in Indian subcontinent. The final paper links the impact of climate change on people in Odisha (India) and highlights the challenges and policies of government over the socio-economic aspects of people living in the region.
